Shadowrun Returns October Q&A Videos

Hey folks!

We had such a great time addressing your questions in our first community Q&A in September that we decided to do another… and then another. We received so many great questions this time that they couldn’t be contained in just one video. So watch the first (longer) one for the broader questions, and the second (shorter, fancier-dressed) one for the more detailed questions.

We’re cranking away on development and we’re happy to share everything we (comfortably) can with you. So enjoy! And keep brewing more questions for the future: these won’t be our last community Q&A videos.

Shadowrun Returns Q&A Part I

Shadowrun Returns Q&A Part II

And here are the transcriptions for Part I and Part II

Could you put up a transcript?

(Yeah, it’s petty. But it’d be appreciated.)

      Hoi Sean!

Sally at HBS said on Facebook that she’d put up transcripts after she returns from vacation. So, it might take a little while, but they’re coming! ^_^

      Ja Mata!

I agree. I don’t want to spend 45 minutes to see if theres anything interresting in there. I’d rather just skim over the text and look for topics of interest, then maybe see a video.

Wish you didnt use video status updates as much. Look at Pebble for a how-to. (you might need to be a backer to see the update though)

Thats video, text with headlines, images, bullet point lists etc… all I need to get a quick lay of the land + deep reading where I like.

I like the videos too. Lets you know without a doubt that it isn’t some intern being tasked with writing their responses. They are taking the time to sit down and address our concerns and interests. It’s really cool. I hope they keep it up… Well for as long as HBS keeps making games that interest me.

A great vid, and feel really appreciated for updates like this. Make’s me glad to have given my $125 for the game. Looking forward to the system where we can upgrade our pledges, cuz I feel like I might be able to get it up by another. :)

Ditto on the transcript if possible. But thats because I have a bad hearing and dunno what people are saying usually without subtitles.

Great job on the video, the only comment I have is that as far as how to keep characters from being completely over leveled and making content unchallenging I would think a system where either the character file would track how your karma is spent then if you try to load a low level adventure it would give you the option to roll your character back to the point where the karma cap is reached for the content would work or some sort of manual rollback where it would display your current character sheet and the amount of karma you are over then let you subtract from your abilities until you are at the right karma level.

Always great to see you guys, but yes, a transcript would be useful, since as a non english native, I don’t fully understand all the answers :)

    Sound cool!
Just a small suggestion: Please investigate if you can make the difficulty adjustable in a way that you wouldn’t have to put “Level 1-3”-Tags on the runs. Especially for custom content this would be sad because of the limited access. To a point it could be solved by just making the enemys stronger (scipted). Maybe you could also implement a possibility to virtually “downgrade” your characters to play a certain run. This is probably not necessary for the storyline but it would be great if you could just say “let me play that one with my character as he was with X karma”.

The first link seems to be broken…at least Google gives me a 502 error.
    Will try again later

Hey guys! First of all, thanks so much for the kind words. As far as the transcript, I was still playing a little catch-up today and I forgot my headphones (I’m still jetlagged, my mind is hilarious right now), but tomorrow– tomorrow is transcript day!
