Dragonfall Trailer, Screenshots & Release Date

We are excited to announce that the first Shadowrun Returns expansion, Shadowrun: Dragonfall, will be released on February 27, 2014 at 10am PST.  Here’s the official trailer and screenshots! (Be sure to fullscreen it in HD for the full effect!)

For many more screenshots and more product information, visit the official Shadowrun: Dragonfall page: http://harebrained-schemes.com/shadowrun/dragonfall/

The Dragonfall development team pushed incredibly hard to hit our original January release window and our playtests have been a lot of fun! However, a few rough edges still remain, and we’ve decided to extend our polish and bugfixing time to ensure that we deliver a great Shadowrun experience. We know you’re excited to play the game and we’re confident this will allow us to ship the best campaign we can!

Shadowrun: Dragonfall will be FREE to Backers and they will receive the same number of keys they received for Shadowrun Returns. For everyone else, Dragonfallwill launch at $14.99 – in fact, it’s now available for pre-order on Steam at http://store.steampowered.com/app/272030. Please help us spread the word!

In other Shadowrun Returns news…

Shadowrun Returns Beta Version 1.2 is LIVE

We want to make sure you all know that the Beta for Version 1.2 of Shadowrun Returns is now LIVE on Steam. This version includes the new and improved Save Game functionality, including the ability to save in the middle of scenes, and a variety of fixes and improvements to the core game. If you’re interested in looking under the hood at those changes, be sure to read the Release Notes located on the Shadowrun Returns forum here: http://bit.ly/1jYXfrE. And feel free to jump into the Beta to help us test it! Here’s the best place to report any bugs you find. http://bit.ly/LZqteB

The update will be released to the public alongside the Dragonfall expansion, but v1.2 does not require the purchase of Dragonfall to use.

Localization Update

The German translation of Shadowrun Returns is still in process but has been delayed due to some production hiccups. We are working with our localization partner to ensure a high quality translation, and look forward to releasing it in an update that will coincide with the release of Dragonfall. As an added bonus, we are happy to announce we will also release a Russian and Chinese translation at the same time, February 27th, 2014!

As always, thanks for the opportunity to make this happen. We’re excited to get all of our hard work on Dragonfall into your hands next month!

Is there any plan to make some other extension ?

    • RobinHBS
      January 29, 2014 at 9:02 am #

We sure hope so! It will depend on sales for Dragonfall so anything you can do to help us get out the word would be great!

        Already done and preordered.
For future extension, may I suggest the city of Neo Tokyo or Hong Kong ?

About French translation, it look like it was released without any change from the Beta. Do you plan to use the feedback sent ? (’cause for now, there are some painful translation)

And do you plan to translate Dragonfall as well ?

      January 29, 2014 at 9:05 am #

We continue to work with the company doing the French localization to improve on the translations. They will likely be included in a patch at a later date.

We’re still working on details for translation of Dragonfall.

Will there be a Shadowrun Campaign Pack made available, at $24.99, as was previously announced?

And, does the IOS version currently already have the ability to save anywhere in the game?

I’m debating which platform of the game to buy…

Thanks for bringing this classic role-playing game back! :)

There will be a Campaign Pack at that price at some time but we’re still working on those details.

The Save Anywhere function will be added in a patch shortly after we release Dragonfall.

If you want to play any Community Created Content or try out the editor for yourself, keep in mind that you’ll need to get the PC version.

      Hope that helps!

Although I very much enjoy the idea of full-fledged party members with interesting backstories I also hope we will be able to hire freelancers like in Dead Man’s Switch.

No, Dragonfall will only come out in English on February 27.

By now it seems rather complicated to get UGC data (like equipment, cyberware, etc) in other story UGC modules.

There are some attempts like sme but they are far from convenient.

Is there a better way coming up with dragonfall?

Thx and keep up the good work!

      February 6, 2014 at 10:37 am #

Can you clarify whether you mean you’re creating UGC yourself or you mean in UGC that others are creating?

Either way, two great sources for any information regarding UGC are the Shadowrun Returns forums here: http://www.shadowrun.com/forums/categories/game-2 or the Shadowrun Returns Steam Workshop here: http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/browse/?appid=234650

For example the street samurai catalog ugc is great but in order to import the equipment there in any other ugc i have put it manually as dependency and edit the merchant lists in the editor etc.

We don’t have any plans to change this process with the release of Dragonfall.

Data packs are only meant to be used for UGC creation since the creator needs to justify what is in their content. Stores are populated from actors inventory directly and are controlled by the UGC creator/author

          Thanks for asking.

I’ve been surfing online more than 4 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It is pretty worth enough for me. Personally, if all website owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the web will be a lot more useful than ever before.

Will Dragonfall add any new music? Or will it be the same music as Dead Man’s Switch?

Also, please allow mod makers to add music. :-) The SNES Reboot mod that you promoted last entry is great, but the mod makers have said that they can’t add the original soundtrack because Shadowrun Returns won’t let them.

Comes Dragonfall DLC directly with German Language or 6-8 Month Later like the Primary Game?

I love this game, and this world setting. While I am a translator, I am super interested in translating the game, and since there is an official Chinese version, I guess fan translation is no longer an option.

Is it ok to enlighten me which agency did the Chinese translation?

Maybe I can contact them and be a part as a freelance translator. Thanks!
