If you are a Kickstarter Backer or pre-ordered the game, we are happy to send you a GOG key if you contact us at info@hbs-studios.com.

We are also pleased to let our Linux-loving fans know that they’ll soon be able to access the game through the Humble Store. We’ll let you know about it as soon as possible.

Shadowrun: Dragonfall, the expansion for Shadowrun Returns, will also be available on GOG and the Humble Store when it’s released in January.

Just bought the game on gog.com and i have to say: I love it!

Will there be a Language Patch for the DRM Free version too?
Would love it to test the italian language and, as soon as the german version will be available, this one too :)

Good news. Will the game arrive in other DRM-Free stores as well? I really like buying games from the Humble Store. Where you get DRM-Free versions as well as a steam Key.

I think the biggest problem with Linux versions is that we have not been able to get a DRM free version at all and anyone who’s already got the game got it though steam (people -really- need to -stop- publishing games though steam as the primary channel).

If I can just launch my game without steam installed, I’m happy with the steam version I’ve got… a non-steam release would be better (hey, why not just only build the games DRM free and push those to all channels? No steam specific version, no gog specific version, no humble bundle version — just SRR… really.. it would make your lives so much easier).

Well, that’s not entirely true: if you’re a backer you got your DRM-free Linux version directly from HBS… ;-)

True.. unfortunately I never heard about SRR untill after backing it was no longer possible…

Anyho… all versions should really be identical — especially now that the windows and mac versions which are not steamified are identical (HBS and gog). Only the distribution channel should be different.

I think the only real difference is, that the Steam version has Workshop support, while you have to download the user-generated runs manually and put them in the right folder yourself. Other differences – if you want to call them that – are stuff like Steam trading cards. Anyway, the point I’m trying to make is: I don’t see a real difference between these various distribution channels (if I were HBS I’d even try to put my game on more channels like Desura and the Ubuntu One store). The DRM restriction that was imposed so far, was not HBS’ decision. So I don’t really see how one might blame them for that.
